Hojicha is a Japanese tea made by roasting green tea leaves, resulting in a distinctive roasted aroma and a light, smooth taste with very little bitterness or astringency.
The roasting process reduces caffeine content, making this tea gentle on the stomach and suitable for a wide range of customers.
It can be enjoyed simply with hot water or prepared with milk as a hojicha latte.
Hojicha-flavored desserts such as pound cake and cookies are also well received, and hojicha is often considered the next popular Japanese tea trend after matcha in the UK.
With a standard usage of 0.8g–1g per 140ml cup, one 125g bag yields approximately 125 servings.
